Iron Sets
In recent years, more and more golfers stay away from the long irons in the iron set, instead they replace them with golf hybrids and fairway woods that are more forgiving on miss hits. Now days it's more common that a iron set for men only include 7 irons (4-PW). If you have a tendency to duff or if you think that you hit the ball too low, you should choose an iron set with a wider sole. With these irons, it is easier to get good accuracy and more height because they have a low center of gravity.
If you have a problem with hitting the center of the club face you should choose an iron set with the weight placed around the club head's outer edges, so-called perimeter weighting. These types of irons will give you more distance and better direction even on bad hits. If you allways hit the ball in the center of the club face and want to be able to shape your shots better, an iron set with blade irons or muscle back irons as an alternative.
